Student Testing Company Will Not Renew Contract With State
(Washington DC) -- The company that provides standardized student testing in Minnesota schools has opted *not* to renew its contract with the state. The 61-million-dollar contract with Washington DC-based American Institutes for Research is set to expire in one year. The relationship between the state and AIR has seen its share of problems, including deadline disagreements, glitches with online testing, and claims of poor service. AIR disputes those claims, alleging the Education Department made unreasonable demands. State officials plan to have a new partner in place by spring 2014.
