House Will Not Block Deal To End Shutdown, Avoid Debt Crisis
(Washington, DC) -- The U-S House will *not* block a bi-partisan Senate deal aimed at ending the government shutdown and avoiding a debt crisis. Minnesota's Amy Klobuchar was one of the 12 members on the Senate negotiating team and says the House has to pass this measure. Klobuchar says she takes Speaker Boehner at his word that he's bringing it to the floor. Klobuchar says the deal funds the government for another three months and increases the debt limit until February. Votes are expected later today (Wed). Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann says "the American people lost" in the three-week government shutdown.
