Bachmann Brings Up Minnesota Security Breach In Obamacare Attack
(Washington, DC) -- Congresswoman Michele Bachmann contends a recent security breach in Minnesota is additional evidence that Obamacare should be repealed. Her comments came as the Democratically-controlled U-S Senate today (Fri) passed an anti-shutdown bill that does *not* de-fund the Affordable Care Act. Bachmann told her colleagues a government employee "hit a button and, just like that, 16-hundred Minnesotans' private information -- including their Social Security numbers -- was sent out in a terrible, flagrant security breach." The state's chief information security officer told a legislative panel Tuesday that the data security plan for the MNsure health insurance exchange is "best practice." He says the e-mail breach involving insurance brokers was not an I-T failure, but a personnel matter that they continue monitoring.
