(St.Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Legislature in a four-hour special session today (Mon) passed a disaster relief bill to help 18 counties repair damage from June storms, and also assist Rock and Nobles counties after last winter's ice storm. Republicans also wanted to repeal business-to-business taxes on warehousing, telecommunications equipment and commercial equipment repair that Democrats passed in May. House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt (DOWT) says it was a missed opportunity "to clean up Democrats' man-made disaster." House Majority Leader Erin Murphy responded the legislature passed a bill everyone could agree on -- storm relief. Murphy says Republicans warn of "gloom and doom" with new taxes but she says the economy is making real progress and Minnesotans have "real pep in our step."
