Workplace Deaths Up in MN
(St. Paul, MN) -- A report shows there were 10 more workplace deaths in Minnesota in 2012 than the year before, for a total of 70. State Labor and Industry Commissioner Ken Peterson says for the last five years, Minnesota has had around the same number of workplace fatalities, but over the last 20 years, there's been a substantial decline. And there's been an even more significant decline in the overall number of injuries, as opposed to fatalities. Peterson says his department uses the data to decide where to focus enforcement and prevention efforts.
