GLBT Group Applauds Pope's Comments On Gay Priests
(Minneapolis, MN) -- "A significant shift in tone" for the Catholic Church, says a Minnesota G-L-B-T group about Pope Francis' remarks regarding priests' sexual orientation. The Pope said, quote, "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" OutFront Minnesota Faith Director Javen (JAY'-ven) Swanson points out the Pope's remarks come the same week that same-sex marriage becomes legal in Minnesota. The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis has not responded to a request for comment. The Winona Diocese says the complete transcript of the Pope's press conference speaks for itself and there is nothing they can add to clarify.
