(New London-Spicer HS, MN)-- 7-15-13-- The West Central Broncos have continued to improve throughout the season and continued their excellent play over the last five weeks with a 33-27 overtime win against the Midwest Nightmare in the quarterfinals of the Midwest Premiere Football League playoffs at Pederson Field at New London-Spicer HS.
The Broncos have featured a devastating rushing attack during their now five game win streak that was on full display Saturday night in front of a crowd of almost 600 as they rumbled for 421 yards on the ground led by former KMS all-stater Joel Bauman's 147 yards that included a 46 yard TD gallop to start the second quarter. Dassel-Cokato native Jarrett McAllister scored a pair of TD's rushing including the game winner in OT covering 22 yards.
The Broncos have also had an oppurtunistic defense that picked off four passes against the Nightmare, based in Spring Lake Park, including two by Bird Island's Braden Peterson and a pick six by cornerback Brian Burwell covering 38 yards. The Broncos have now advanced to the league semi-finals and will travbel to Woodbury to play the top seed in the playoffs the Minnesota Sting on Saturday at 2pm. (KWLM Sports)
