National Curling Tournament at Willmar Civic Center



(Willmar, MN)  Saturday is the opening ceremonies for the Mixed National Curling Tournament, being held for the next 7 days at the Willmar Civic Center.  Practice begins at noon, and opening ceremonies begin at 4 pm Saturday followed by a reception.  The first match of the tournament is at 6:30 Saturday evening.  The ice at the Willmar Civic Center Blue Line Arena has been prepared to meticulous specifications, and cameras have been mounted on the ceiling of the Blue Line Club Arena so people can watch the matches from the lobby and lounge.  Being a Mixed Tournament, there will be men and women on each of the 4- or 5-member teams.  Curling will take place everyday from now through Thursday and the championship match will be one week from Saturday.  All games are free to watch.  For a schedule of games, go to www.Willmarcurling.org.
