AARP Minnesota Pleased With Health Insurance Exchange
(St. Paul, MN) -- The Health Insurance Exchange approved last week in the Minnesota House is slightly different from the bill passed in the Senate, so now lawmakers get down to work on hammering out those differences. No matter how the final draft looks, Mary Jo George with AARP Minnesota says it'll be a place for people to shop for health insurance -- and no one can be rejected. She says the Affordable Care Act includes a provision that people will not be denied health insurance if they have a health-care condition, so every health insurer in the state will have to offer insurance products to anyone, sick or healthy. Minnesota's health-care exchange is expected to be online as of October 1 and serve more than a million people.
