Weekend snowmobile accidents hurt two in Meeker, Stearns Countys.
The Meeker County Sheriff's Department says a Hutchinson man was hurt in a snowmobile accident yesterday afternoon. At 4:37 emergency crews responded to a single snowmobile accident with injuries on Highway 15 and 240th Street in Dassel Township. 30-year-old Chase Ostlie of Hutchinson was driving a snowmobile eastbound crossing Highway 15 with a group of snowmobilers, and as he was crossing the highway his snowmobile tipped on its side and he fell off the machine. Ostlie was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Hutchinson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (KLFD)
The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says 50-year-old Glenn Hinnenkamp of Melrose was hurt at 3:13 p.m. Saturday when his snowmobile hit a snowbank on Lake Maria in Oak Township, southwest of Freeport. He was thrown from the sled and hurt his lower leg and was treated at the scene and later taken to the Melrose Hospital. (KWLM)
