Outdoor Recreation is Big Business in Minnesota



(Undated) -- There is a lot of money in outdoor recreation in Minnesota. The Outdoor Industry Association has counted the financial impact that hunting, fishing and other such sports have on the state. Avery Stonich (STONE'-itch) says spending tops more than 11-billion dollars and the industry accounts for 118-thousand jobs. She says it's also producing three-point-four-billion dollars in wages and salaries and it's generating wage and 815-million in state and local tax revenue. Nearly 70-percent of Minnesotans participate in outdoor recreation every year. (MNN)
