The American Cancer Society's 12th annual Snowmobile For Life takes place in Kandiyohi County Saturday. It begins with registration at 11:30 a.m. at the Atwater Community Center. Coordinator Steve Lueders of the Kandiyohi Men's Club says they will then leave in groups of about 30 starting at 12:30. Each sledder will pay a minimum $15 pledge to participate. While they are out having fun, they'll be playing bingo at the Atwater Community Center, 25 cents a card, starting at 1 p.m. There are also many items people can peruse and bid on in a silent auction, and at 4 p.m. kids are invited to participate in the snowmobile pinewood derby, the brainchild of Greg Tauer of Atwater. The chilli supper begins at 4:30. Herberts and Gerberts supplies the chilli, available for a free will donation. The silent auction ends at 5, followed by the life auction with Lefty Norling. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and over the years they've raised thousands of dollars. (KWLM)
