North Mankato Man Killed In Shootout With Police
(North Mankato, MN) -- Authorities have released details after a North Mankato man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Police say family members told police 83-year-old Lloyd Tschohl [[Shole]] had made homicidal statements and had weapons in the home. Investigators say Tschohl refused to come outside to speak with officers and after about three hours as they approached the house, he fired through a front window and back door. Police say Tschohl exited the house a short time later, again fired at officers, and three officers returned fire. The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continues its investigation.
