Mom Gets Jail Time For leaving Kids In Hot Car

(Bemidji, MN) --  A northern Minnesota mother who left her four children in a hot car last summer is going to jail.  Twenty-one-year-old Bianca Hazelrigg of Bagley is accused of leaving four young children unattended in a vehicle for 30 minutes while she shopped inside a Bemidji Target store.  The vehicle was not running and all the windows were closed.  A Beltrami County District judge sentenced Hazelrigg to a year in jail, but stayed all but 24 days.  She was also ordered to spend two years on probation.  The criminal complaint says it was 88 degrees at the time and the kids in the car were hot to the touch and were flushed and sweating.
