(Washington, DC) -- Congressman Keith Ellison believes the school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut have changed people's minds about gun laws. The president wants Congress to reinstate the assault weapons ban, strengthen background checks and restrict high-capacity ammunition clips. Ellison says reasonable, sane gun restrictions and the right to possess a gun can exist together. Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill have expressed willingness to consider new gun control measures.
