(Bloomington, MN) -- According to reports, a substitute teacher faces criminal charges after authorities say she allegedly abused and swore at her fifth grade class in Bloomington. The criminal complaint says 59-year-old Laura Avery of Bloomington swore and used derogatory terms when the classroom full of students began acting up. She is also accused of grabbing one of the children by the hair, grabbing another by the neck and kicking another student. School officials became aware of the alleged abuse after the crying students told another teacher. Avery was then escorted out of the building and remains in the Hennepin County jail.
