Rochester Man Shoots Granddaughter, Thinking She's Intruder

(Rochester, MN)  --  Authorities say a Rochester man shot and critically wounded his 16-year-old granddaughter late last night (Mon), thinking she was an intruder.  A police spokesman says the man saw someone at the rear door and his wife called 9-1-1 while he grabbed his nine-millimeter gun.  The man fired two shots and one struck the girl in the neck.  She's in critical condition but doctors are hopeful she'll survive.  The girl has been living at her grandparents' home and the grandfather reportedly thought she was inside the house.
