State's Ag Exports Hit Record



  --  Minnesota's agricultural exports hit a record six-point-eight-billion dollars in 2011.  Su Ye (YEH), chief economist for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, says that's up 13 percent over the year before.  She says the top export commodities for Minnesota are soybeans, corn, pork and wheat -- and Minnesota's largest ag export markets are China, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.  Other top exported commodities include, sugar, dairy products and feeds.  Those commodities accounted for more than 80 percent of the state's total agricultural exports.  Minnesota is the sixth largest agricultural exporter in the U.S
