Baby Given To Wrong Mom At Hospital, Mixup Caught



(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Officials confirm a newborn baby boy at a large Minneapolis hospital was mistakenly given to the wrong mother yesterday (Wed) and breast-fed for short time before the error was discovered.   Spokeswoman Gloria O'Connell says as far as they know it's never happened before at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  O'Connell says all newborns and mothers are given matching I-D bracelets but someone apparently didn't follow procedure to check I-Ds at every step -- and she says "there will be consequences.
