(Roseville, MN) -- The jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing has grown to an estimated 500-million dollars. Minnesota State Lottery Director Ed Van Petten predicted earlier that it would be raised today from a record 425-million dollars. Van Petten says the jackpot is a set percentage of sales, so if there are more sales than projected, that money goes into the jackpot. Minnesota players are expected to spend more than six-million dollars on Powerball tickets for Wednesday's drawing.
