?(St. Cloud, MN) -- Farmers from across the region are in Saint Cloud today and tomorrow (Tues/Wed)for the annual Midwest Dairy Expo. Bob Lefebvre (la-FAVE') of the Minnesota Milk Producers Association says their biggest challenge is educating consumers, and that starts with the state Legislature. He says they have their work cut out in the Minnesota House, where 21 of the 28 committee chairs are from the metro area. Lefebvre says high feed costs are one of the biggest problems facing dairy producers. He adds that while milk sales continue to decline in the U-S, cheese sales are keeping the dairy industry strong.
