-- Some solid gains for the state's housing market in October. Pending sales were up 17 percent, closed sales rose eight percent and the median sale price increased nine-and-a-half percent. Chris Galler of the Minnesota Association of Realtors says last month was better than expected, showing that the economy and consumers "are actually picking up some steam and a lot of confidence." Galler says October is traditionally a slower month for home sales in Minnesota. New listings declined by nearly two percent as there were fewer distressed properties on the market.
