(Le Center, MN) -- The family of a Kasota man fatally shot by a Le Sueur County sheriff’s deputy has agreed to a 750-thousand dollar wrongful death settlement. Twenty-four-year-old Tyler Heilman was shot to death by Deputy Todd Waldron in July of 2009 after Waldron pulled Heilman over for driving erratically and a scuffle ensued. Waldron reportedly shot him four times in the chest when Heilman had put him in a headlock. Deputy Waldron was cleared of all wrongdoing, but Heilman’s father filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the deputy and county citing unreasonable deadly force.
