(Moorhead, MN) -- The AFL-CIO is making good on its threat and calling for a nationwide boycott of American Crystal Sugar beginning October 15th. Union officials say they hope the boycott "will encourage Crystal Sugar to finally respect its workers." About 13-hundred workers have been locked out for 14 months. The AFL-CIO says the boycott will be discontinued if Crystal returns to the bargaining table and approves a contract. Executives at American Crystal Sugar are not immediately available for comment.
