(Minneapolis, MN) -- Opening arguments today (Tues) in Minneapolis in the trial of a Minnesota man accused of helping finance fighters for the terror group al-Shabab in Somalia. Mahamud Said Omar (mah-hah-MOOD sigh-EED OH-mar) is charged with five terror-related counts in the government's investigation into at least 21 young men believed to have left Minnesota in recent years to join the terror group in Somalia. Seven defendants in the case have pleaded guilty and six remain fugitives. Omar's attorneys say he is innocent.
