The Willmar Fire Department responded to a cut gas line at 2:28 yesterday afternoon. Contractors had accidentally cut a 2-inch steel line in the area of 1027 Elizabeth Avenue SE. Minnegasco was contacted to assist with containing the leak and shutting off the gas line. The Fire Department evacuated approximately 6-10 people from the surrounding area as a precautionary measure, and they were able to return home once the leak had been contained. No one was hurt and firefighters were on scene until approximately 4:15 PM. (KWLM)
