(Washington, MN) -- The five-year Farm Bill would pass the U-S House if it came up for a vote this fall -- so says Congressman Tim Walz after GOP leaders cancelled an October work session and refused to schedule a vote. Walz says conservative members opposed to food stamp/nutrition funding shut it down. House leaders are pushing for a 90-day extension of the current Farm Bill rather than vote on the new five-year bill prior to the November election.
