Gophers Down Western Michigan



(Minneapolis, MN) -- Max Shortell tossed for 188 yards and three touchdowns as Minnesota earned a 28-23 win over Western Michigan. Shortell entered the game last in the second quarter after Gophers starter MarQueis Gray injured his left leg. Donnell Kirkwood carried the ball 23 times for 110 yards in the win. The Golden Gophers host Syracuse next Saturday.
