(St. Paul, MN) -- State officials could be close to parceling out 47 million dollars in state funding for public works projects that lawmakers left uncommitted when they passed a bonding bill. In project rankings sent to Governor Dayton, Litchfield's two-and-a-half million dollar request for wastewater infrastructure improvements has the highest score -- 99 out of 100 points -- and a similar request from Hector also scored high. Duluth's 10-million-dollar project for downtown development and a parking ramp got a score of 92 out of 100. Perhaps the highest-visibility project: Saint Paul's 27-million-dollar request for a new Saints ballpark received a somewhat lower score, 77 points out of a possible 100. As for three high-profile requests to upgrade civic centers, Saint Cloud's project got a score of 74 points...Rochester, about the same....and Mankato somewhat lower at 63 points. The scores do not guarantee funding. Governor Dayton said he'll make the final decision.
