(Various) -- The number of school districts going to voters in November for tax levy referendums is down this year. According to the Minnesota School Boards Association, around 30 districts will hold a referendum during this year's elections. That's compared to 133 in 2011. Officials say the districts trying this year likely didn't get their proposal passed last year. It's also believed many districts are waiting until next year to avoid their referendum getting lost in all the presidential campaign "hoopla".
