(Moorhead, MN)  --  A Clay County Deputy was recently kicked off the force because of events during a work-related trip to the Twin Cities area.  Sources say Deputy Ryan Carey was participating in a law enforcement canine competition in Eden Prairie.  Carey is appealing his termination.  Carey's attorney, Isaac Kaufman says he can't discuss specifically what led to Carey's dismissal, but he says Carey has not been charged with a crime.  Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist has said he can't comment because it's a personnel issue.
