7-27-12 (Washington, DC)  --  First District Congressman Tim Walz is calling on G-O-P leadership to bring the Farm Bill up for a vote.  Walz took to the House floor Thursday, saying southern Minnesotans cannot afford to deal with uncertainty that follows an out-of-date extension.  Walz says never before has a Farm Bill been this close to being passed and then blocked by leadership.  The House will likely approve an extension before the current Farm Bill expires in September, but is not expected to pass the new legislation prior to the November election.
