7-25-12 (Center City, MN) --  Carlton County Attorney Thom Pertler has checked himself into an alcohol and drug treatment program.  The 48-year-old from Cloquet was recently arrested and charged with driving while impaired, refusing to submit to a chemical test, speeding, driving over the center line, failure to signal, possession of an open bottle and no proof of insurance.  Pertler's blood alcohol level was nearly three-times the legal limit.  Pertler's attorney says his client checked into Hazelden in Center City on Saturday.  He's scheduled to make his first court appearance August 16th.
