7-25-12 (Washington, D-C) -- The latest check on children's well-being shows Minnesota rated as the fifth-best state in the nation. But the latest numbers from the Annie E. Casey Foundation also show that's the lowest ranking ever for our state. Indicators used by researchers include health, education and other factors. Major areas of concern are Minnesota's increase in the number of children living in poor neighborhoods -- and a boost in the number of children without health insurance: now 84-thousand statewide.
