Ex Senate Staffer Sues In Sex-Scandal Case

7-23-12 (St. Paul, MN)  --  As expected former state Senate employee Michael Brodkorb is suing over his firing late last year.  Brodkorb was terminated after former Majority Leader Amy Koch (COKE) stepped down when senators confronted her about an affair she was having with Brodkorb.  In the lawsuit, Brodkorb claims he was treated differently because he's a man and that "similarly situated female legislative employees...were not terminated...despite intimate relationships with male legislators."  Current Majority Leader Dave Senjem says "the Senate has done nothing wrong" and acted "carefully and appropriately in regards to this employment issue."  Senjem adds he is not interested in a mediated settlement and believes the state Senate will prevail in court.
