Historic Heat Burst This Day In 2006
7-16-12 -- A very bizarre weather event happened on this day six-years ago. The day was much like what we're experiencing now -- extreme heat and high humidity. But in the western Minnesota town of Canby, the late night temperature in 2006 would jump from 91- to 100-degrees in a span of just 40-minutes, due to what forecasters called a Heat Burst, caused by a dying thunderstorm. One benefit from that evening's historic Heat Burst: the dew point dropped from 63- to 32-degrees.
