7-12-12 (Minneapolis, MN) -- The Minnesota Twins remain hopeful that Target Field will be the site of the All-Star Game in a couple years. The team sent a delegation to the All-Star festivities in Kansas City this week. Twins President Dave St. Peter says they are focused on securing approval of the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and nothing has been made official yet. Commissioner Bud Selig will be in Minnesota later this month for the R-B-I World Series children's baseball and softball tournament, but St. Peter does not expect Selig to award the All-Star Game to Minneapolis during that visit. The New York Mets will host the 2013 All-Star Game.
