7-10-12 (Walker, MN)  --  A Cass Lake man has drawn a nine-year prison sentence for trying to kill the husband of a woman he was infatuated with last December.  Twenty-five-year-old John Lutgen pleaded guilty to attempted murder and first-degree burglary.  The criminal complaint says the victim's wife saw Lutgen hitting her husband over the head with a piece of wood and kicking him.  Lutgen earlier told her that the victim was an unfit father and husband, and asked for help killing him.  The husband suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.
