Records Fall As Minnesota Sizzles

7-2-12 (Various)  --  Temperature records are falling in central Minnesota on this scorching second day of July.  Saint Cloud is reporting 96 degrees, besting the old record of 95 set back on this day in 1921.  And the mercury hit a record 97 degrees at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport this afternoon, one degree above the old record set on July 2nd of 1911.  The Weather Service says the sweltering heat will continue right through the 4th of July.  Temperatures are in the 90s around much of Minnesota today.  Two notable exceptions:  it's 70 degrees in the harbor at Duluth and 64 degrees in Grand Marais on the shore of Lake Superior.
