Health Care Mandate Will Require Minnesotans to Purchase Insurance

6-28-12 (Minneapolis, MN)  --  The U-S Supreme Court has upheld President Obama's health care law.  If the law is not repealed, in 2014 all Minnesotans would be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty in the form of a tax.  Daniel Schwarcz is an associate professor at the University of Minnesota Law School.  He says the penalty would be administered through the I-R-S and presumably you're going to have to report whether you have health insurance on your yearly income tax.  Penalties would be based on household income and could from 700 dollars upward into the thousands.
