Farm Bill Provision from Sen. Franken

(Washington, DC)  --  The 2012 Farm Bill passed by the U-S Senate includes a provision authored by Senator Al Franken.  He re-wrote the Rural Energy for America Program - or REAP - which provides grants and loans for renewable energy projects.  Franken says a dairy farmer could use it to get an aerobic digester to make methane from cow waste.  Franken says Minnesota has used the program more than any other state except Iowa.  He's urging his colleagues in the U-S House to pass the farm bill.
