Como Zoo Takes in Lake Superior Zoo's Seals and Polar Bear

6-21-12 (St.Paul, MN)  --  Some of the animals that escaped their flooded exhibits at the Lake Superior Zoo are temporarily being housed at Como Zoo in St.Paul.  A team of zookeepers made the trip to Duluth and back overnight to get the seals and polar bear.  Officials say the move is in the best interest of the animals because it is unknown when the Lake Superior Zoo will re-open.  The facility suffered extensive damage from the heavy rains and flooding early Wednesday.  Como Friends is encouraging Minnesotans to support the clean-up efforts by making donations to Lake Superior Zoo's GiveMN.org page.
