Community Garden Day in Minnesota

(Undated)  --  Today is Community Garden Day in Minnesota.  Fifty community gardens across the state are being showcased and the general public is invited to check them out.  Kirsten Saylor of the non-profit Gardening Matters in Minneapolis says gardens like these are becoming economic necessities in many areas.  She says many food banks are experiencing empty shelves right now.  Saylor says it's a good time to be thinking about growing for others, and a number of gardens have been established primarily for that purpose.  To find a community garden near you, check online at gardeningmatters-dot-org.
