Twins beat Sox 7-5


(Minneapolis, MN) -- 6-19-13-- Ryan Doumit delivered a go-ahead two-out, two-run
double in the eighth inning to help the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago
White Sox, 7-5, in the opener of a three-game set at Target Field. After
Clete Thomas drew a walk and Joe Mauer singled, Doumit doubled to center off

Stingers sweep twin bill at Alexandria


ALEXANDRIA, MINN. – 6-19-13-- A double header against the Alexandria Blue Anchors gave a handful of Stingers all the opportunities they needed to get their season on track. After joining the team later than most, college teammates Alec Solé and Danny Brennan each turned in a pair of quality games to propel Willmar (14-6) to a sweep of Alexandria. Heat even Finals with OT win over Spurs


(Miami, FL) -- 6-19-13-- LeBron James posted 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to help the Heat defeat the Spurs 103-100 in overtime of Game Six in the NBA Finals from Miami. Chris Bosh added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Miami, which hosts Game Seven on Thursday. Dwyane Wade was held to 14 points in the win. Lynx host Mercury tonight


(Phoenix, AZ) -- Less than two weeks ago the Minnesota Lynx handed the
Phoenix Mercury a 99-79 loss at the Target Center. Tonight, this time in
Phoenix, the Lynx will try and do it again in a match up featuring two of
the highest scoring teams in the WNBA. In the first match up on June 6th,

Gophers sign former Eastview star to basketball roster


(Minneapolis, MN) -- The University of Minnesota men's basketball program
announced that forward Joey King has officially signed a tender to play for
the Gophers. Kings joins previously signed players Deandre Mathieu, Daquein
McNeil and Malik Smith as part of head coach Richard Pitino's inaugural

(Minneapolis, MN) -- 6-18-13-- The BOLD Warriors baseball team was on a mission and accomplished the ultimate goal on a bright sunny Monday morning at Target Field when they defeated Osakis 3-0 to win the Class A state title. The first ever baseball state championship in school history. Logan Sandgren was fantastic again as the big lefthander went the distance allowing just one hit and strikng out six. More... 

Stingers rally falls short in loss to Rox


WILLMAR, MINN. – 6-18-13-- The game was not short on drama -- that much is true. Forget any ideas about ebb and flow, this game had zigs and zags. The Stingers mounted a cantankerous rally after trailing 8-1, but fell just short, missing on an attempted four-game series sweep of their Highway 23 rivals the St. Cloud Rox, falling by a final score of 8-7. Bruins shutout Blackhawks to take 2-1 series lead


(Boston, MA)-- 6-18-13-- Tuukka Rask stopped 28 shots for his third shutout of the
playoffs to lead the Boston Bruins in a 2-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks
in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals from TD Garden. After splitting a pair

Wild sign Scandella to extension


(St. Paul, MN) -- 6-18-13-- The Minnesota Wild re-signed defenseman Marco Scandella
to a two-year contract Monday. Financial terms were not revealed. The
23-year-old blueliner spent most of the season playing for the Wild's AHL
affiliate, the Houston Aeros. In 45 games, he had two goals and 15 assists.
Scandella played in six games for the Wild this season, recording one goal.
