(Rochester, MN) -- A Minnesota sheriff's deputy is recovering from minor injuries, after he accidentally shot himself in a freak series of events. Deputy Chad Miller was helping other officers track down a man that took off running after a traffic stop near Rochester, and the chase led into wooded and brushy areas. Investigators say Miller didn't notice that a twig dropped into his holster, and when he slid the gun back in -- the branch caused it to fire. He was treated for a graze wound to the thigh and released.
