Republicans Mull MN Health Insurance Plan

(St. Paul, MN) -- A plan adding more than 35-thousand people to government-subsidized health insurance rolls in Minnesota is headed to Governor Dayton's desk. Senator John Pederson of St. Cloud was one of just six Republican senators to vote in favor of the Medicaid expansion. However, opponents like Republican State Senator Michelle Fischbach of Paynesville say they worry the federal government will renege on its promise to cover the costs, leaving the state to foot the bill.
