Red Cross Helping With "Superstorm Sandy" Relief

(New Ulm, MN)  --  Red Cross personnel from Minnesota are heading to the East Coast to assist with hurricane and storm recovery.  South Central Minnesota chapter Director Bob Meyer says trained emergency volunteers from New Ulm and Courtland are on their way to New York, but that plan could change at any moment.  He says they'll do feeding operations and support activities.  Meyer says other volunteers are preparing to head east to manage shelter operations and disaster assessment.  More than 250 Red Cross shelters housed 11-thousand people overnight in 16 states.
