No Prison Time For O-J's Former Girlfriend

(Fargo, ND)  --  O.J. Simpson's former girlfriend won't be going to prison.  Christie Prody (PROE'-dee) of Moorhead pleaded no contest to charges that she tried to steal a woman's purse at a mall in Fargo, which means she didn't admit guilt but acknowledged there was probably enough evidence for a jury to convict her.  Prody was given a suspended four-year prison term and two years of supervised probation.  She'll soon be in court in another case, in Clay County, on accusations that she stole painkillers from an elderly couple.  Prody and Simpson had a 13-year relationship that began in 1996, a year after the former pro football star was acquitted of killing his ex-wife and a friend in 1994.
