(St. Paul, MN) -- Governor Dayton has appointed Katie Clark as the new commissioner of the state Department of Employment and Economic Development. Current DEED Commissioner Mark Phillips is resigning effective Friday to pursue opportunities in the private sector. Clark has been executive director of the Minnesota Trade Office since January of 2011. The governor says Clark has proven that she knows how to turn her ideas into action as director of Minnesota's international trade office.
