Boy Starved By Parents Will Stay In Foster Care

(Mankato, MN)  --  A judge says an eight-year-old North Mankato boy allegedly starved by his parents will remain in foster care for now.  Russell and Mona Hauer are charged with neglect and malicious punishment of a child.  Authorities said they put an alarm on the boy's door so he would not steal food.  A trial on whether to terminate the Hauers' parental rights is scheduled for January.  The couple's other three children will remain with their parents.
